Story Behind Zinnia

The idea for Zinnia came to me while I was on the phone with a friend of a friend. This lovely, frightened, and confused woman called me to discuss her divorce. She had so many questions, and I realized that too many people navigate this process alone and that I had the knowledge and, more importantly, the desire to help her.

This was not the first time I'd spent hours on a call offering support, validation, and guidance to women searching for answers. It wasn't even the twentieth. I realized that everyone going through a separation or divorce, needs support and community. And knowledge. And I realized I wanted to be the person to offer it.

Zinnia is a place of refuge, information, healing, and transformation. You can find the resources you will need to get through your divorce and, more importantly, to build your best life as you move forward.

Why “Zinnia”?

Zinnia Flower Meaning & Symbolism: Zinnia flowers teach us to persist through life’s challenges, to embrace joy even in difficult circumstances and to continue to bloom brightly, no matter our obstacles.

Endurance & Joy: Zinnias are often referred to as “one tough flower,” and their symbolism has evolved to represent endurance in its many forms.

Zinnias are happy to bloom even in the harshest conditions, such as the broiling heat of summer. This joyous endurance reminds us that beauty and positivity can persist in the face of adversity. Zinnias are no strangers to trials and tribulations. They endure unforgiving heat, drought, and pests, yet they continue to put forth beautiful flowers in a dazzling array of colors.

Zinnias are often seen as symbols of hope, positivity, and spiritual growth. Their bright colors and enduring nature remind us to stay resilient and find beauty even in the most challenging circumstances.

Zinnia is my third career, but the first one where I’m truly able to make a positive impact on people’s lives. In my first career, I built stores (both “brick & mortar” and online) for large brands such as Sephora and ToysRUs. It was exciting work, and I loved every minute of it.
